What Happens After I Sign Up?

After you complete the signup wizard and choose your plan, your custom website enters our build pipeline. Here's what that means.

The Build Phases

Your site moves through five stages:

  1. Received — We've got your application and are queuing it up.
  2. Wireframing — Our team is laying out the structure of your site.
  3. Populated — Your products, photos, and branding have been placed into the design.
  4. In Review — Everything looks great on our end — we're waiting for your sign-off.
  5. Live — Your site is open for business!

You'll receive an email at each stage so you always know where things stand.

What You Can Do While You Wait

Even before your site goes live, your dashboard is active. You can:

  • Upload your logo — We'll use it across your header, marketplace listing, and emails.
  • Add products — Start listing what you sell so we can populate your storefront faster.
  • Connect Stripe — Set up your payment account so you can accept orders from day one.
  • Pick your brand colors — Choose three colors and we'll apply them site-wide.
  • Set up your custom domain — Point your domain (like handmadebyjane.com) to your store.
  • Edit your signup answers — Update your shop name, tagline, category, or location anytime.

The Building Mode Dashboard

While your site is being built, your admin dashboard shows a Building Mode overlay. You'll see your progress stepper at the top, the six action tiles in the middle, and a preview of what your dashboard will look like once you go live (greyed out behind a watermark).

Once your site goes live, the overlay disappears and you get full access to everything.
