Becoming a Porch Pro

Becoming a Porch Pro

Porch Pros are neighborhood distributors. Vendors drop off labeled bags at your covered porch (or side door, or garage shelf). Buyers pick them up later — usually on Thursday evenings. You earn $5 per pickup, paid by Stripe on the same schedule as your own sales.

You don't need products. You don't carry inventory. Your job is letting people grab a bag.

Apply

Sign in to your Painted Porch account, then go to Hub → Porch Pros → Apply. The form is two steps and takes about 4 minutes:

  1. About you — name, email, phone, address. We need the address you live at because vendors are picking you, not just a city.
  2. Photo + camera — a phone photo of your covered pickup spot, plus the brand of camera (Ring, Nest, Wyze, etc.) covering it.

Both are required. Photo lets ops verify the spot is real and weather-protected. The camera requirement protects you, vendors, and buyers if a package ever goes missing — it doesn't have to be expensive ($35 indoor cam aimed through a window counts).

What we look for

  • Covered pickup spot. Front porch, side door, garage with shade. Anything weather-protected.
  • Off-street parking nearby. Buyers shouldn't have to fight for a spot.
  • Working camera. Doesn't have to be expensive. Has to actually work.
  • You live there. No PO boxes, no rentals you don't occupy.

After you apply

Every application is reviewed by hand. Expect to hear back in 3–5 business days. The status page at /dashboard/hub/porch-pros/status shows where you are: pending, more info needed, approved, or not a match.

Approved? You'll get an email with a link to connect Stripe. Once Stripe is wired up, you start showing up in the zone-pickers vendors use to choose Porch Pros for their service zones.

Earnings

  • $5 per handoff, paid same-day via your Stripe account.
  • A vendor sending you 30 pickups a month = $150/mo from one vendor alone. Multiple vendors stack.
  • No commission, no platform cut on your end. Buyer pays $8 at checkout; $5 goes to you, $3 to The Painted Porch.
